All set for Malaga

Made the booking for Malaga today, need to sort out a rental car and a hotel shouldn’t be too difficult though it is nearing the peak time for the region.

So much for LA

Tried again today to get tickets sorted out for LA and San Francisco, went to the STA office near work. Again the Air France reservation system seems to be telling lies, either the flights don’t exist or they are totaly booked up as well.

So I’m giving up on that plan, so it looks like it’s Spain for a week, and looking for a new flat in Cambridge in the secnd week of my holidays. On a plus now that I have virtually have some cash to spare I might even get an X-Box to tinker with. Not that it may be possible to run Linux on an X-Box without a modchip it’ definately worth looking into again. My main compulsion being the the X-Box Media Player project which already supports DivX and streaming media support.

Yeah Right!

So much for doing a bunch of site updates over the weekend. Started looking at the list of incomplete stuff and the list of new stuff and just thought well maybe another couple weeks to mull things over was a good idea. It’ll get done just don’t know when. I want to add the Amazon shop for sure, as well as get the fsj content in-order. Perhaps also categorise all of the blog content as well.

Linux Expo here I come…

Decided on Friday that I would use my holidays in early August to visit the Linux Expo in San Francisco. Spent most of Friday evening and today surfing around and visiting travel agents in the hope to secure a flight. Such is my luck that I can’t find anything which is reasonably priced, by reasonable I mean much less than £1000.

Since the cheapest offer I have seen has been around £700 I thought I might as well make a trip of it an visit LA as well. So far the best offer price I have seen is from STA offering an Air France flight for £788. However when ever I click through to book the whole site just freezes, regardless of which browser I use. Going to have to go to the STA in Covent Garden in the morning.

Site Updates Probably This Weekend

Just been looking at the number of posts I am actually making since I switched to MT, and it has not gone up as much as I hoped. Any way just realised as I published a couple of draft pieces, that I have still not updated the content on the personal site. Plus I still have not tried to salvage my lost blogs from blogger.com, so I will try and spend some time on Sunday fixing a few things, hell I might even start on the Amazon store I have been planning.

The Really Incredible Hulk

Watched The Hulk last night. Let me say from the outset that I was expecting greatestness from this film since Ang Lee directed it. Being slightly disappointed with Matrix Reloaded I was trying to keep my expectations in check, however I should not have doubted Mr Lee.

The Hulk is the best film of the summer, X-Men 2 was great, Matrix Reloaded was good, the Hulk is simply the best. Acting wise Nick Nolte stole it for me, his last film The Good Thief was also great. Jennifer Connelly was good though it was hardly a testing role for her. Eric Bana did a good job as well. If you have not seen Chopper then you should definately check it out (HMV have had it in their Indie £5.99 series since Christmas, a must buy.). Bana’s role as the slick Navy SEAL in Black Hawk Down was what brought him to the mainstream. I think we will be seeing more good things from him in the future, he is already starring along side Brad Pitt and Orlando Bloom in Troy, Wolfgang Petersen’s next film.

T3 is due out in 2 weeks now I don’t think it will be amazing, however I have been a very big fan of the Terminator concept since the first film probably has something to do with the fact that it was the first 18 movie I managed to see in the cinema.

Chase Corporate Challenge

It was the JP Morgan Chase Corporate Challenge last night, I was not running but a number of friends from work did take part, and some chicken’d out at the last moment. Fun was had by all and I took some snaps, will post soon.

Bruce Almighty

Watched Bruce Almighty last night. Which I found to be quite entertaining, Jim Carrey was very good. Not going to go into details since I think most people will not what the plot is, just go and see it.

The I-MAX in London will be showing The Matrix Reloaded from tomorrow, probably a good reason to go and watch it again.
