The new X-Box update that went out over the last couple of days has fixed the buffer underun vulnerbility in the X-Box Dash Board, looks like that plan has been sucker punched. Looks like I will have to get a modchip and switch combination.
Slashdot has a thread. It would seem that even non-subcribers of the X-Box Live service are having the patch applied to the machine automagically, hmmm that does not seem right though I guess for the large number of users it’s probably right since they are not going to want to know how to patch their X-Box.
