Watched Starsky and Hutch last night. Now I went with an open mind, knowing that Ben Stiller and Owen Wilson where trying to do something different which they did. However they could have just made a buddy cop movie and called it anything, however by calling it Starsky and Hutch, and featuring the original stars David Sould and Paul Michael Glaser they would get the extra marketing muscle, which I think has worked a treat. The film is pretty funny, but this is because Stiller and Wilson usually are pretty funny.
The dance off scene reminds me of the Kung Fu dance off in Zoolander though was funny on a different scale. Snoop Dogg did a good job of playing Huggy Bear (Actually where was the original Huggy Bear, I remeber when this re-make was announced he was supposed to have a cameo, no sign of him.). Vince Vaugh played a good adversary, the funniest character was of course Will Ferrel, who was Big Earn, a drug dealing cowboy doing time. Watch Starsky and Hutch if you are a fan of the original series just to see what Soul and Glasser look like now (I was surprised to see Soul doing a cameo, because I think he originally objected to the idea of a revival), and for a mild laugh. If you want to see a funny Stiller film watch Along came Polly which is much better.
