Well spent this morning at ECTS, was not satisfied at all. Seems like a terrible show this year. Mainly due to the fact that 3 shows are happening simultaneously in London. So companies are putting their cash into the commercial show, Game Stars Live. Also the EGM, the new trade show because of it’s proximity to Game Stars was the popular choice for trade exhibiters, again because of cost.
Admittedly going on the last day when the remaining GDC sessions are for students and academics is a little unfair maybe, however from the people I spoke to wednesday and thursday were not much better. Attendance may have been higher, but the stands apart from a couple where quite low key.
I was not planning on going to Game Stars however it would seem like it is the better show to go to. A shame that Mati passed up free tickets from work thinking that ECTS would be okay.
