Well i’m reliefed that the new film adaptation of the The Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy is not bad at all. I was really worried that they could mess this up, fortunately they have done a pretty good job. Sam Rockwell is great as Zaphod. Thanks to CGI the two heads thing is so much better implemented, than just a fake head on the shoulders. The star in my mind was Marvin, voiced by Alan Rickman.
I can still see extreme fans being a little disappointed because the storyline does get compressed a little, however the pace works really well. I think people who have not read the books, heard the radio show or seen the TV Series will love this. For many of these people this will be their first encounter with HHG2TG, and hopefully will make an impression.
Should probably note that now we are in May we can look forward to all of the big films for summer. Only 20 days to Episode 3.
