Well I have been tinkering with my Blackberry for the last week, and it is great. The best the about the Blackberry is that on the train home I can mail people in New York that are having lunch, so responses come back quickly which normally would be delayed until the next morning or later in the evening.
Have also install the Yahoo Messenger client which is quite cool as well. The browser is not bad either, google renders perfectly. More complicated sites don’t come out to well.
Have also been developing a Python RSS-2-Email application, it works but needs some cleaning up, so at the moment just hooked a script into cron which gets me e-mails of content from TheReg, slashdot, MacNN and other the Beeb.

Have been looking around again for a flat or house so far have seen a whole batch of places, some in my price range some a little over. The depressing thing is that over the last year when I was last looking the situation has not improved and prices although stable through the end of 2005, have risen again in January. Had made an offer on one place but lost out in the bidding war that ensued. The area I have been looking in is Chiswick which I quite like. However the prices on some of the place have gone up by £20000 just whilst we have been looking at them. I have now seen a place I quite like, and have made an offer, however I’m not getting excited about it just yet.

Got myself a new Blackberry 7290. So I can now e-mail anywhere and at anytime. Have got the mail accounts setup now, still trying to sort out the sync with my Mac. Since I work in Egham, I share the train with RIM employees armed with their Blackberrys. I have been meaning to find out what all the hype is about.
I now see how the term Crackberry came about because once you get one of these they are a little hard to put dow.

Sony Ericsson’s new m600 could be my next phone upgrade. Check out the engadget piece here.
Supports Blackberry Connect and a host of other Mail and IM features. I quite like the new i-mate as well which has been geting glowing reviews, however it is a Windows Mobile so I will resist for now. The Windows based Palm is also getting acclaim, so perhaps a Windows Mobile is not entirely out of the question. a 3G Treo would also be nice, especially since Palm have also licensed Blackberry Connect from RIM.

Interesting evening off tv programs last night. I started off by watching bits of a program about women that choose to breast feed their children till the age of 7. The program featured a number of mothers, and their children. One thing was dead obvious in some of the cases was the fathers were not best pleased with their wife’s choice. One of the women was an actavist for the acceptence of breast feeding in public. Apprently some European nations have put in laws to prevent women from feeding in public. The program was quite amusing until one mother with twins aged 4, got double teemed by them. I had to change away at this point.
So for an hour I was channel hoping like crazy, but was drawn back to Channel4, which now had a program about men with large penises. Now this was also quite amusing centering on 3 well endowed men. One happyly married. One who can’t stay in relationships because his disk is too big. Then another chap who is a little confused about his sexuality, he even has minor celeb status in New York and has been trying to make it as an actor and writer. Though he has had offers for porn roles he has actually turned them down.
I say again Channel4 WTF?
