Couldn’t sleep much for some reason, and I was channel surfing when I came across ‘Hotel California’ a documentary on BBC4. The program was about the music scene from the mid-60s to the 70s in California. It featured Bob Dylan, Buffalo Springfield, The Bryds, Crosby, Stills and Nash. Neil Young and Crazy Horse, Joni Mitchell, Carole King, Linda Ronstandt, JD Salinger, Jackson Brown, James Taylor, Graham Parsons and The Eagles. Whilst I knew some of the artists and their music I didn’t know the history and how they were related. So this turned out to be an interesting morning. At nearly 3 hours long it is bit of a mission, but I think if you record it, then you can watch it in sections. The quicker I get over to Sky+ from cable the better.
