Just came across this on AppleInsider. Either Jobs has convinced Phil Collins to come along tomorrow, or Apple is launching a new wireless device that is not an iPhone. Either way we will know in the next 24 hours or so.

Was out on friday night, and I think I caught a chill on top of which Mati has been sick for most of the last week, with the flu bug doing the rounds. So I managed to dodge it last week, however I’m not out of action. Hopefully I will be well enough for work on monday!
First day back today looking forward to it. Even got up extra early! Lets see how much those a-holes at South West Trains have put the prices up by!
Well I’m still playing with upgrading the site, however I’m hitting a few problems with the new archive system. I’m sure the new version is better, however I can’t work out a simple things like republishing all of my templates easily. Also the new pages feature seems not to be working for me. I’m sure these problems are just configuration issues, plus the fact that I’m still learning how the whole things hangs together.
Happy New Year, well you know I don’t do resolutions so I’m not going to state any for this year either! Things are good now so I hope things keep getting better! Having said that I’m at least going to try and actually post entries closer to when I write them rather than batching them up and then publishing them. Though I still have a fair few to copy and paste in yet, largely from the latter 3 or 4 months.
Finally got around to posting a whole backlog of post through December till now. Also upgraded MT and fixed some of the page issues. I need to still update some of the content pages, which I’m always lazy about doing. Might do it over the weekend if I feel like it.
Went along to the London Python Meetup this evening. Rich told me he and Remi were heading along to check the scene. So I said I would tag along. Ran into a few people I know from GLLUG/Lonix But it is always good to meet more people, who are doing interesting stuff with Python in London. The topic for discussion were not all Python centric as is always the case. So it was fun as always, I will try to pop along to the next one. The page is here.
Jack is back, Season 6 kicked off on Sunday stateside. I have the episodes downloaded will watch them this evening.

Click here to take the “Which Superhero are you?” quiz…
Last time I did this quiz I was Spiderman, so something has changed.
Just watched Employee of the Month which was funny but nothing special. Jessica Simpson seems to be doing a good job of establishing herself as an actress. While not a demanding role by any means she did quite well.
The main characters are played by Dane Cook and Dax Shepard, now they were very funny. While not being the greatest comedy ever made it does provide some laugh, and make for a good distraction for a couple of hours.
Well my PC is up and running now. Finally after months without CounterStrike I was able to get my swerve on. I also put on a new release of Ubuntu as well, still need to re-jig my partitions so I can decommision one of my old drives.
First day back at work for me, however it seems I was meant to be back at work yesterday. Oh well, these things happens. Just as well really since the power was out a long period. Don’t think I accomplished much today, however we did look through the remaining test and work out what to do next. There were also a couple of customer issues which required some investigation, which we resolved quite quickly.
Also went back to the gym today after a week out of action, which means I’m not going to sleep anytime soon.
Went shopping again today, couldn’t find anything I liked so I didn’t actually buy anything. Had a nice salad at a coffee shop in the back streets of Soho. Which is all I have to show for the day.
Just wanted to say Happy New Year. Not much else happening, just taking it easy still over the holidays. Still playing Zelda, and watching films I haven’t seen in ages.
Happy Eid, was hoping it would happen on Monday, but Hajj took place yesterday so it is today. Though different parts of country/world are celebrating on different days. We are off to East London to Khizer’s place for a family get together. Should be fun.
Hit the post-christmas sales today, didn’t buy all that much. A couple of shirts, didn’t find any cool shoes. Regent Street and Oxford Street were busy as expected, however it was not crazy like before christmas, guess people were still away for the holidays. Which is good because I hate it when it is mental.
There is a great chinese buffet resturant off Tottenenham Court Road which I used to go to a lot. I don’t think I have mentioned it much. What sets it apart is that they are totally veggie, and all the meat dishes actually use soya. For a £5 a head is really good value. I can’t remember the name which is not helpul. Will post about it again at some point.
Managed to get another stick of slower memory and a new hard disk for the new computer. Haven’t tried it yet though I have a bad feeling that the board or CPU is at fault. The power supply seems okay since everything powers up ok. Should really get another supply and eliminate that. However that would mean taking the Mediacenter apart, which I’m not about to do.
What is it with PCs, why can’t they just work after putting them together. There is always some niggle. Why haven’t the PC Standards people made the pinouts for the switches and LEDs standard, and combined into a single connector. If you open up a Mac Tower they have molex connectors for the LEDs and Power Button, they can only go on one way!
I went to the Computer Fair today with Mati, since he was building a new gaming rig for himself. He went a bit crazy, my budget was a little lower so I just went for an Asus board and a Core Duo 2 6400 and 1GB of DDR2 RAM. We got a good price because we were buying quite a few bits and pieces. Mati went for a totally new system including case. Were as my silent case which I bought years will do the job just fine.
It looks like I might have a bad board or memory, so I will go get some different memory on tuesday now, since everything is closed over christmas.
Was heading into London with Waj this afternoon to pick up a USB hard drive and get my PS2 Laser fixed when I got another call from HMV. Telling me that I can collect my unit today at any time. Yipee, the news made my weekend. So I picked up my console and Zelda only to find that they are totally out of accessories. So I tripped all over London looking for another Wii-mote and Nunchuck, fortuntely Game in High Street Kensington had 23 controllers and 20 copies of WiiPlay left so I got Wii-play since it comes bundled with a controller. Nun-chucks were not available. Apparently they never got any. They also had classic controllers, however I opted to leave those for the time being.
The minute I got home we hooked up the unit and started on Wii-Play. As for the Wii first impressions are that it rocks, the controll system works pretty well, though I can see how people are breaking their flat panel tvs. Wii sports is great, will have people over the next couple of weeks giving it a go. The Wii personality features is pretty cool. Not sure if these are able to go online in some fashion. No talk client or comms of any sort in the system panel. Also the Weather and News apps are not active yet. As for Zelda that is going to be a seperate post.
Got a call from HMV not so long ago telling me that I won’t be getting my Wii unit tomorrow. Was hoping that I would make the initial allocation, but looks like I have to wait till next week. People have already started queing for the 200 un-allocated units being kept for the launch event tonight at HMV. Was planning on picking my unit uo today as well since the Troc branch is open till midnight anyway.
